Don Jahnke

Don Jahnke is Co-Owner of Next Development Solutions and Midwest Energy Design, bringing more than 30 years of experience across construction, building science, energy-efficient systems, and multifamily development. His career spans ownership and operation of multiple construction-related businesses, including plumbing, commercial heating, cabinetry manufacturing, and green building companies, providing a broad understanding of construction operations, project execution, and building performance systems.

With a background as a Master Plumber, Don’s focus evolved into advanced building science and high-performance construction, leading him to become a certified Energy Star Rater specializing in building envelope performance, testing, certification, and energy-efficient construction systems. His expertise includes structural insulated panels (SIPs), modular construction technologies, HVAC systems, and high-performance multifamily housing designed to reduce long-term operating and maintenance costs while improving durability and efficiency.

Through Midwest Energy Design and related development activities, Don has focused extensively on Class A multifamily and workforce housing projects in smaller towns and regional markets. His work emphasizes sustainable, build-to-hold apartment communities designed around operational efficiency, healthy living environments, and long-term value creation. He has also developed contractor and crew training programs focused on improving construction efficiency, reducing project timelines, strengthening quality control, and managing construction costs.

In addition to his development and building science expertise, Don maintains valuable industry relationships through his role within the HVAC supply industry, supporting procurement strategy, product sourcing, and operational planning for the modular manufacturing platform. His combination of construction experience, technical building knowledge, energy-efficiency expertise, and operational discipline provides LUV Modular with deep insight into scalable high-performance housing systems and long-term sustainable development practices.
